Here’s What’s Inside This All-New Painting Course...

From Blank Canvas to Background Layers

Lesson #1 - Your Background

In lesson #1 you’ll get started by discovering...
  • My “kitchen sink” trade secret to painting gorgeous backgrounds in less than 10 minutes WITHOUT a paintbrush. This saves you hours and hours so you can focus on the FUN stuff like texture and using your palette knives.
  • The “camel hump” secret. The big background mistake keeping your painting from looking more professional.
  • Which colors soften the tones of your background. My secret sauce to make browns darker. What I never add, and what I always add to the mixture instead.
  • The easel “shish-kabob” trick to get the base edge painting without any smudging. Seems silly, but works like a charm.
Layers of green

Lesson #2 - Adding the Palette Knife Texture

In Lesson #2 you’ll begin layering the trees. I’ll show you techniques including...

  • How to make each knife-stroke unique. Actually, it’s the fastest way to paint and the unique strokes are an inevitable side effect.
  • My go-to green mixture to avoid contamination. I sometimes tint it. But I never ever use it until I finish these other steps.
  • A special “dark” coloring secret to make the bright colors much brighter. You literally cannot mess up with this technique. It’s a winner every time.
  • Why NOT cleaning off your palette knife makes your painting even more gorgeous. It’s one of the few things that make painting a “WOW!”
  • How to paint faster than most artists. This is how my students regularly create 2x, 3x, even 5x more than most painters.
Map in your Lavender

Lesson #3 - Texturing the Lavender Field

In Lesson #3 you’ll enhance your painting by adding in the lavender. You’ll discover...
  • How to fan out your lavender to give your painting depth. And the most professional way to map in your rows
  • When the best time is to add in the dirt and why it's not when you think!
  • How to paint lavender fields so they look natural. It's important to paint them how they actually grow.
Giving Depth to Your Trees...

Lesson #4 - Adding Middle Tones

In Lesson #4 I’ll reveal my signature secrets for layering colors, including…
  • A common misconception — Your trees have to be perfect, right? Wrong! Here’s why you want imperfections in your trees, especially the small ones. Plus, without this kind of “tilt” effect, your scene looks less natural.
  • Dragging your way to beautiful trees. And the best “quick erase” method for correcting any mess-ups or over-done spots.
  • Why listening to your intuition is better than perfect palette knife technique. FACT: Anyone who can butter toast or frost a cupcake can paint this lovely scene.
  • How to make your paint last long so you can save money. Better still, this money-saving technique gives your paintings a special shine.
Making your lavender pop!

Lesson #5 - Fine Tuning the Lavender

In Lesson #5 you’ll give your lavender fields deeper definition. You’ll discover...
  • Why you don’t have to wait for a dry painting to get your highlights done. I mean you can, if you want. But this is much faster.
  • How to scrape away the bland 2-dimensional spots most hobby artists can almost never avoid. If you scrape your scene properly with this tool, your trees will gain depth you can get in no other way.
  • Why almost dropping your palette knife is a good sign. It means you’re doing this right!
Time to touch up the hay bales!

Lesson #6 - Fine Tuning the Background

In Lesson #6 you'll add the highlights to your hay and background. I'll show you...

  • Where to place shadows and where they come from. It's important to understand where the clouds are in your sky.
  • Why Dabbling is perfectly imperfect! And how you can paint this gorgeous field even with shaky hands.
Detailing in the house...

Lesson #7 - The House

This lesson is so fun because we will add in the details on the house. I’m revealing to you...

  • Why it is important to have a personal element in your painting. You can help people better relate to your painting.
  • Why it’s much easier to paint on a large canvas. Most beginners feel more comfortable using a small canvas until they begin using my methods.
  • My “illuminated texture” secrets. All it takes is a simple “glide and feather” motion on your branches.
Finishing touches on the background

Lesson #8 - Finish the background

In this lesson, we will finish up the background. You'll see...
  • When it’s the wrong time to be conservative with your colors. This 3-stage layering technique makes your scene come to life.
  • How to break up your clumps with a top layer of leaf coloring. Plus a little scrape in the final layer is the best way to finish your wonderful new world.
  • Which “Let’s Dabble” knives work best for this painting. Plus, get the full scoop on how my tiny paintbrush secret gives your canvas even more 3D texture.

You’ll discover all this and more, plus finish your painting in as little as 3 hours. But there’s no rush. If you want to take your time, that’s fine. And here’s what the finished product looks like!
