Sally has always had what she calls, “a numbers brain, NOT an art brain.”
But, over the past few years, she’s seen how much joy some of her friends find in having a creative outlet like painting.
Many of my students are in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and even 80s.
Like Sally, they often think, “I want something rewarding to do. I think I need a hobby.”
To her surprise, using the other half of her brain, the side she doesn’t naturally spend time in, she discovered a whole new part of herself.
It was like the art side of her brain was a vast new frontier of possibilities she’d never fully explored before.
But was still worried her paintings wouldn’t turn out as much more than… well… “interesting.”
So she tested out the very first painting she learned inside my LET’S DABBLE With Jen: Painting and Palette Knives digital course on her husband.
She showed it to him and he said… “You did that?”
“Do you know what it is?” she replied, a little worried he wouldn’t be able to tell.
“Yes, it’s Aspen trees.”
“Ah, he knew what it was!” She was SO excited when she told me.
“I don’t want to spend my days watching the news and watching TV. Painting is a great thing to spend my time on.”
